Why Viaró is GLOBAL
Training all of our students, helping them to develop all of their abilities; intellectual, artistic, sporting, technical, social and communicative, so that they can optimise their talents as much as possible.
Establishing relations with prestigious colleges from 5 continents. This encourages us to continue searching for excellence as a college and as professionals in the education sector.
We have created an R+D department with a large group of these colleges, sharing the best practices of each centre.
Our teaching staff participates in international conferences, carrying out joint research projects with other teachers from around the world and presenting papers on their areas and departments. As a result of this initiative, last March an international conference of the IBSC UK/Europe took place in Viaró, on the subject The Family-School Relationship.
How do we manage to work character, intelligence, sensitivity and social concern in a comprehensive manner? In the same way we have been doing for the last 53 years, with personal training through conversations between personal tutors (preceptors) with both pupils and their parents.
We accompany them in their day to day lives, showing them that we believe in them in any and all situations, while helping them to find the right tools to overcome any obstacle or undertake new challenges and projects.
Students experience the need to master foreign languages; to listen, understand and respect points of view that are different from their own, develop critical thought and be able to support their principles with reasons and recognise their limitations and errors.
Our experience is that students are perfectly able to take on leadership roles and guide others by serving with this social responsibility that encourages them to improve as people living in a globalised, interlinked world. Our pupils carry out projects by working together with their peers from other cultures, who have different customs and languages.
The links between pupils from different colleges of the world range from student exchanges to joint work on history topics and discussions on Skype, or sporting competitions in numerous countries, living in homes as one more member of the family in countries abroad. Helping each other in language classes with joint projects, meeting in student forums to discuss social responsibility and character training projects and carrying them out, etc.
In short, we seek to make everyone realise that there is a diversity in the world around them, and people who they can help with day-to-day actions.
