- The Under-18 and the Under-16 (A and B) teams will play federated football competitions for the first time
- Marc Ventura, Head of Viaró’s sports teams, visited the FCF to formalise the inscription
As of this year we will have three football teams in the official competitions of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF, according to its initials in Catalan). We will be represented in the official competitions of Catalan football with our Under-18 and the Under-16 (A and B) teams.
With this, we aim to increase the level of our main football teams to reach the top categories within five years. Starting in late September, the three school representatives will leave in the School Council competitions to face the youth academies of the best football clubs in the Catalan federated leagues every weekend.
Marc Ventura, Head of Viaró Global School’s PE Department and sports teams, visited the FCF headquarters in Barcelona to formalise the inscription, where he was received by the president of the entity, Joan Soteras, to whom he explained the current and future project.
“Thanks to our federated teams, Viaró’s name will be present in some of the best football pitches in Catalonia. In addition, it is a unique opportunity for the boys to continue their progression as sportsmen while representing their school”, said Ventura. The members of the three squads finished their holidays two weeks earlier in order to prepare for this new challenge. After having passed the medical and physical examinations, they have already begun their first pre-season training sessions at Viaró’s sports facilities with their new coaches: Alejandro Puig Molins (U-18), Pablo Arnaiz Martínez (U-16 A) and Josep Maria Font Oller (U-16 B).
